Burmese restaurant Lahpet opens first permanent site in Shoreditch
Serving a mix of “staple” Burmese dishes and regional specialities, including hake masala, tofy nway (rice noodle soup) and mohinga (fish chowder), the venue will “opt to use the very best Burmese and British produce available - using locally supplied fish, meat and vegetables and indigenous ingredients that they import from Myanmar monthly.”
Co-founders Dan Anton and Head Chef Zaw Mahesh – both of Burmese heritage – will also offer a selection of Borough Wines wine, local beers and cocktails with a “Colonial twist.”
Launching 6 April, the restaurant will operate a lunch and dinner service Tuesday-Sunday.
