Winchester pizzeria group branches out into London

Pi Pizzeria, a pizza restaurant in Winchester, Hampshire, is expanding its concept into London with the opening of a site in Battersea, south London.

The restaurant’s speciality is its 20-inch sharing pizzas where customers can choose up to three flavour combinations, with the pizza served on a raised wooden board in the middle of the table.

The pizzas are made on-site using Pi’s own ‘signature dough’, which it ferments for over 72 hours.

The restaurant will open on a date to be announced in 2018.

The company started a campaign on crowdfunding platform Growthdeck in June, in a bid to raise £500,000 to help fund the opening.

Matthew Englender, head of Sales at Restaurant Property, a London restaurant agent which sold the 1,519 sq ft. site on behalf of Scoffers, said:

"I am delighted to have helped Pi Woodfired secure a site in London - and secure a premium for our client in a very difficult market.

"Battersea Rise is a vibrant location with plenty of exciting operators, I am confident Pi Woodfired will fit in nicely."
