Hotel, restaurant and coffee shop operator Whitbread has launched its newest brand, Cookhouse and Pub, in Oldbury, West Midlands.

Hoping to “reinvent” the pub dining experience by offering the “quality food and service of an informal, all-day casual restaurant” and the “relaxed vibe and affordability of a pub,” this is the first of Whitbread’s new trialled concept to open.

Comprising dishes such as breakfast baps, flatbreads, burgers and pies, the 4,519 square foot venue is open for brunch through to dinner, and also has a selection of craft beers, cask ales and ciders, draught wines and cocktails on offer.

Head of strategy and innovation, Sarah Tinsley said: “We’re hugely excited to have launched the first Cookhouse and Pub in the Midlands and we’re on course to open three more over the coming months (Holystone in Tyneside, Ripley in Derbyshire and Kilmarnock.)

“We feel this is a new, bold and revolutionary concept in the pub restaurant market which we hope will be welcomed with open arms. It’s a fantastic opportunity for guests to eat out for less and experience the quality of our food in a relaxed, friendly and welcoming environment.”

The 237-cover venue also has a large bar area and open kitchen.
