Unique Hospitality Management pub group hire former Jamie Oliver operations chef

Pub operator, Unique Hospitality management, has appointed the former development chef for Jamie Oliver Restaurants, to the new position of group operations chef.

Charlie Barr spent four and half years with Jamie Oliver Restaurants, working as development chef for the restaurant’s international operations and openings.

Barr will report to current Unique Hospitality Management chef/director, Mark Austin, who oversees the menus across the company’s seven pubs.

“I am looking forward to working in a managed business where chefs still have the opportunity to demonstrate their own creative flair on menus and get to work with amazing produce from quality British suppliers.”

Unique Hospitality Management, whose seven pubs are spread across six different counties, have plans for expansion, with managing director Andrew Coath setting the target of having 15 pubs by 2019.

The group’s two most recent openings were steak and seafood concept, The Wheatsheaf Pub & Grill, in Milton Keynes ,and The Fox Inn, in Oxford, a Star Pubs & Bars lease opened in September.
