The awards were split into categories for international and UK design and recognised the aesthetic appeal of restaurants, bars, pubs, luxury sites and pop ups.

The winner of best overall UK restaurant design went to Fucina, an Italian restaurant in London designed by Andy Martin Architecture, featuring a wood fired pizza oven and a walk in wine room.

Based in the headquarters of the secret society that ran Victorian London, Covent Garden’s, The Escapologist, won the award for Best Overall UK Bar design.

Other winners included Nando’s Putney Kitchen, The Kitty Hawk, No 197 Chiswick Fire Station (all in London), and Nelson’s Diner, located in Newbury, which won in the Best Fast/Casual category.
