UK pub chain Waxy O’Connor’s wins big at Irish Pub Awards

Irish pub chain, Waxy O’Connor’s, won the Irish Pub of the Year in the UK at the Irish Pubs Global Awards held yesterday (19 October).

The group, which has two locations in London, and one in Manchester and Glasgow, picked up four awards in total at the ceremony held at the Mansion House, Dublin.

Waxy O’Connor’s London won the award for Best Irish Whiskey Experience while it’s Glasgow branch won for Best Food Experience.

The award for Best Cocktail Experience went to Waxy’s Little Sister, a scaled-down version of the pub, situated in London's China Town.

Waxy O’Connor’s is owned by Hayes-based pub,bar and restaurant operator, Glendola Leisure.

Glendola Leisure managing director, Alexander Salussolia,  said: “So often referred to as the pub with the tree in it, these awards are a testimony to the fantastic teams, hard work and dedication that goes into creating a Waxy O’Connor’s venue.
