Fast-food chain, Taco Bell, has announced three new openings as it continues its expansion into the UK foodservice market.

Following the announcement of its first location in Scotland earlier this week, the Mexican-inspired restaurant group has revealed its next three sites will be in Sheffield, Barnsley and Brighton.

Taco Bell is partnering with its largest franchisee, QFM, on both the Broughton Lane, Sheffield opening and the Rockingham, Barnsley launch- the company’s first UK standalone drive thru.

The 100-cover double storey Brighton restaurant will be operated by Caskade Group which also runs Taco Bell’s sites in the south of England, in Poole, Chichester, Southampton and Woking.

The three new sites are expected to open before the end of the year, bringing the firm’s UK portfolio to 22, 11 of which offer home delivery after a contract with Deliveroo started yesterday.

Taco Bell opened its first UK restaurant in 1986, with expansion starting in the late 2000’s before stalling after a horsemeat scandal at one of its locations.

The company has been a dominant player in the Amercian fast food market since its inception in the 1960’s and now operates over 7,000 units in the US alone.
