UK pub company Stonegate will relaunch the Anglers pub in Walton on Thames next month following £400,000 worth of investment.

The 19th century, 70-cover pub is laid out over two floors featuring twenty different gins on one and a bar of ten real and craft beers on the other.

Stonegate, operator of the Yates and Slug and Lettuce pub chains, purchased the River Thames-based building last summer.

“We’re definitely making the most of the Anglers position on the river,” said manager Mark Slowe. “The restoration has made a countrified summer and winter pub offering a seriously relaxing experience.”

The drinks menu will include craft beers such as Meantime pale ale, Samuel Adams and Norada IPA, alongside ales from Hogsback, St Austell and Surrey Hills.

Gins will include Sipsmith’s Sloe Gin to the pink Warner Edwards Victoria’s Rhubarb Gin.

The food menu offers lunches from £7 and features guest-ale-battered cod & chips, sausages and mash, and Sunday roasts with free top ups of roasties, yorkies and gravy.

Sticky toffee pudding and blackcurrant & sloe gin meringue are two of the desserts that will be on offer when the pub opens in late March.
