Star Pubs & Bars will spend £3.6 million on refurbishments at 16 of its Lancashire pubs as part of a £20 million investment programme.

The refurbishments focus on creating great locals serving good food and coffee for the whole community, such as The Stags Head at Goosnargh near Preston, which will undergo a £270,000 refurbishment after being closed for five months.

Star Pubs & Bars operations director for the central region, David Pritchard, said: "Vibrant pubs are affordable, fun places where people of all ages and backgrounds can come together.

“Customers now want the same choice and quality of drinks, good food and entertainment on their doorsteps at their locals as they get in city centres.

“We’re investing £20 million this year around the country in pubs like The Stags Head to help them deliver excellent quality and thrive in their role at the heart of their communities.”

The Stags Head will feature two dining areas as well as a traditional bar. A barista quality coffee machine will be installed and the pub’s garden will also receive a complete makeover.
