The proposed Bull & Bush

Star Pubs & Bars has invested £650,000 to refurbish a number of its Derbyshire pubs, including a £320,000 refurbishment of The Bull & Bush in Mackworth and a £170,000 refurbishment of the Harrington Arms in Long Eaton.

Plans at the Mackworth pub include the addition of a takeaway offering with its own entrance, introducing food menu items such as fish & chips and homemade pizzas. The pub will also feature a barista quality coffee machine to capitalise on the lack of a nearby coffee shop.

The Harrington Arms in Long Eaton will be given a renewed focus on cask ales, as well as introducing food, games and a new garden.

Another Star pub to benefit from investment is The Tupton Tap at Old Tupton, which recently reopened following an 18-month closure and £160,000 refurbishment. It has been restored into a traditional pub specialising in local cask ales and home cooked food.
