The Snooty Fox, a family-run pub in Cumbria has been given a £270,000 makeover by Ei Publican Partnerships, with its doors set to reopen on 11 August.

The pub, which is run by the award-winning Ledsham family, has seen the introduction of a large courtyard area for alfresco dining and new ‘boutique’ accommodation.

The drink offering will include a collection of 46 gins and 20 rums, whilst the food menu is to comprise of traditional pub food with a ‘modern twist’.

The Snooty Fox has nine renovated letting rooms, while derelict flats which sat on the pub’s land are being turned into six bunk rooms, due to be completed in October.

Tom Ledsham, who will oversee the front-of-house operations alongside his brother Ollie, said: “I’ve lived here [Cumbria] all my life and when the opportunity arose to take on The Snooty Fox we jumped at it.

“We’ve worked closely with Ei Publican Partnerships to come up with a concept that will take it back to what it used to be – a welcoming community local for everyone in the area.”

Awards that the Ledsham family have won include the Lancashire Taste Awards ‘best bed & breakfast’.

Ei Publican Partnerships regional manager, Mark Price, said: “The family is very well known in the area and they’re fantastic publicans so we’re very excited about the reopening and confident this will become a firm favourite for locals and visitors.”
