06/11/2017 - 07:00
To celebrate the launch of Pret a Manger’s Sheffield City Centre store this Thursday (9 November), it’s giving away 400 free lunches at the soft launch event this Wednesday (8 November.)

Situated on Fargate shopping area, the 130-cover venue will serve Pret’s staple menu of sandwiches, salads, hot food, snacks and sweet treats – all fresh items made on-site daily – as well as a selection of hot and cold beverages.

General manager Maria Pak said: “We are so excited to open the doors to Sheffield’s second Pret. Our fantastic new team are trained and ready, and we can’t wait to meet our new customers.

“To celebrate the opening and help our customers meet the team, we’re going to open the shop for a sneak peek next Wednesday 8th November from 12pm. The first 400 customers through the door will receive lunch on us!” consisting of a salad, sandwich, baguette or wrap, dessert or snack, cold and hot drink.

There will also be free Wifi and a filtered tap available.

As part of its “commitment to help alleviate the pressures of homelessness in the UK,” Pret Sheffield is also looking for local charities that it can donate its unsold food to at the end of each day.

Pret Foundation Trust project manager, Juanita Cracchiolo, commented: “We’re currently looking for local charities to support through food donations each night, and would love to be contacted by any organisations who feel they could benefit from collecting fresh, unsold food from us in the evenings.”
