Glasgow-based Pizza takeaway and delivery operator, NY Slice, has hit its crowdfunding target of £300,000.

The company aims to be the UK’s fifth largest delivery firm, and has revealed expansion plans of growing from seven sites in year one to 80 sites in year five.

The pitch on crowdfunding website Angels Den reads: “Our authentic New York offering of pizza by the slice and whole pizzas of up to 18”s for dine in, takeout or delivery is revolutionising pizza in the city.

“We focus on smaller, more seasonal menu than our competitors enabling us to supply the very best of produce like slow cooked Cajun brisket, honey glazed ham, tandoori chicken and spicy Italian sausage.”

The company uses recipes and techniques that are all derived from research in New York and claims to give the most ‘authentic New York pizza experience anywhere in the UK’.

NY Slice currently operates a Glasgow site and is set to open an East London site in January and has sites in Shoreditch and Soho penciled later.
