MealPal, the restaurant lunch subscription service has announced that it will soon be made available to users in Manchester after the company branded its London launch as ‘successful’.

Through its website and mobile app, MealPal’s service was set up in February this year by Mary Biggins and Katie Ghelli following an £11 million series A fundraise.

Restaurants can sign up to be part of the service which offers one dish per day to subscribing members for under £5 a day.

MealPal offers a 12 meal plan (£4.79 per meal) or a 20 meal plan (£4.39 per meal) which can used over the course of a 30-day cycle.

Companies to have signed up to the service include Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Chilango, Barburitto, New York Diner and My Thai.

Ordering through MealPal enables customers to reserve and select the time they wish to collect their meal from a chosen restaurant which they can then visit to pick up their orders without needing to queue.

Nick Green, ‎UK general manager at MealPal said: “We’re bringing MealPal to Manchester. We want Mancunians to ditch the soggy sandwich, leave last night’s leftovers at home and have a proper lunch – all at an affordable price.”

Manchester will be the 11th city offering the service which is available in cities including New York, San Francisco, Toronto and Sydney.
