GROSVENOR has announced a string of catering deals at Liverpool One, its £950 million retail-led regeneration of Liverpool city centre.

A number of leading brands have taken units in the 42-acre development, as follows: Las Iguanas - 5,253 sq ft unit Wagamama - 5,855 sq ft unit Café Rouge - 4,822 sq ft unit Zizzi - 5,253 sq ft unit Gourmet Burger Kitchen - 4,016 sq ft unit Café Rouge will be opening a second unit in the city to compliment its outlet in the Met Qtr. For the remainder of the caterers, Liverpool One will be their first opening in the city. Terms have also been agreed with Brasserie Blanc and Loch Fyne who will both take units in one of the Pavilions on Liverpool One's park, Grosvenor's five-acre creation at the heart of the development. Both will enjoy spectacular views across the city's skyline towards Albert Dock, taking in One Park West, Liverpool One's striking residential building. The remaining operators will take units on The Terrace, with views across the park towards Albert Dock and the Mersey. It is one of five distinct districts being created by Grosvenor and will be anchored by a 14 screen Odeon cinema. Neil Barber, head of retail leasing at Grosvenor, commented: "It was intrinsic to Liverpool One's concept that we designed attractive destinations where striking architecture and great views combine to create the ideal locations in the development for leading catering brands. The Park and Pavilion are two such locations and we are very pleased to announce this string of deals, not least since the majority of the new tenants have never opened before in Liverpool, further underlining the success of this approach." Some 1.4 million square feet of retail space, a 14-screen Odeon multiplex cinema, 230,000 square feet of restaurants, cafés and bars, together with more than 600 new apartments, two hotels, offices, a revitalised five acre park, and new public transport interchange will feature at Liverpool One during 2008, also the year in which Liverpool is European Capital of Culture.
