Honey bee programme for schools launched

This month, London-based education charity School Food Matters is bringing together the London Beekeepers’ Association and Whole Kids Foundation to launch a new honey bee programme for schools.

Whole Kids Foundation is an organisation devoted to improving children's nutrition and wellness.

AiP school caterer celebrates 20th anniversary

Alliance in Partnership (AiP) school catering company is celebrating its 20th anniversary this month, having been founded in June 1998.

Currently run by its three directors - Paul Rogers, Sally Tyson and Angela Austin – the company has undergone much change, not least acquiring Class Catering in 2014 and The Contract Dining Company in 2017.

Hospitality group Rhubarb – whose portfolio includes Fenchurch Restaurant and Sky Pod Bar (London) – has appointed Warren Geraghty (formerly group executive chef at Galvin Restaurants) as culinary director.

SSP and Welcome Break expand Upper Crust franchise deal

BFFF crowns Annual Foodservice Product Awards

The British Frozen Food Federation’s (BFFF) Annual Product Awards 2018 took place last week (7 June), and saw KK Fine Foods Plc take home the Foodservice Product of the Year for its gluten-free butternut squash, brie, beetroot and truffle-infused oil tart.

All awards were impartially judged by Craft Guild representatives and included: best main course, best new pizza, best new meat-free product, and best new poultry-based product.
