Trade body, UKHospitality has welcomed the Conservative pledge to overhaul business rates and cut employer National Insurance Contributions (NIC) as well as praising Labour’s apprenticeship reform.

Chesterfield College student Jake Parkin has been crowned Young Chef of the Year at the 2019 Chesterfield Food and Drink Awards, hosted by celebrity chef Brian Turner CBE.

Facebook beats Instagram as restaurant owners’ preferred social media marketing platform

UK restaurant owners see a better return on investment from Facebook (63%) in comparison to Instagram (35%), according to new research by Givex.

Catering and services company Aramark Northern Europe has launched Plant Market, its new plant-forward offering designed by chef Paul Gayler.

Plant-based eating is growing trend, research shows 79% of Generation Z are ‘eager to go meatless’ and vegan dishes saw a growth of 237% in 2018.  

Aramark is aiming to promote this offering at all of its client sites throughout the UK and Ireland, including in the public sector.
