Jeremy Scorer named head of HIT Training's new Licensed Retail Academy

HIT Training, a skills and apprenticeship provider for the hospitality and catering sectors, has appointed Jeremy Scorer to head up its new Licensed Retail Academy.

The academy will consist of industry masterclasses aimed at providing apprentices in the pub and licensed sector with learning and experience to support their career aspirations. 

Scorer (pictured), who became the youngest tenant in Nottingham when he and his wife ran their first pub at the age of 24, has ran hospitality training organisation, Charnwood Training, for the last 19 years.

“I’m delighted to join the HIT team and am looking forward to getting the new Licensed Retail Academy up and running in the next few months,” he said.

“It’s my absolute passion to help aspiring individuals to develop multi-skilled careers in the hospitality sector and through the different academy masterclasses – such as brewing sessions and courses on wine and food pairings – we’re aiming to provide a clear progression pathway for apprentices and support them in the pursuit of their own aspirations.”

HIT Training claims to have supported over 100,000 learners across 20,000 employer sites throughout the country since its launch in 2006.

Its Licensed Retail Academy comes three years after the creation of its Chef Academy which is headed by Paul Mannering.
