Italian delicatessen Unico to open on Notting Hill

Italian delicatessen Unico, is set to open its second Caffe serving gelato (Italian style ice cream using milk instead of cream) and coffee in Notting Hill at 37 Pembridge Road on June 26.

Founded by Italian Chelsea footballer Gianfranco Zola, the concept behind Unico Gelato and Caffe, originates in the Italian city of Bologna famous for its rich cuisine. Its aim is to share its traditional Italian gelato, starting in Bromley where its first Café was opened in November 2015.

Each day gelato is freshly prepared on site – the opportunity to watch it being made in the open plan ‘gelato lab’- with an array of authentic flavours including: pistachio, Due Torri (mascarpone gelato, with chocolate and hazelnut sauce), and the signature Notting Hill (Fior di Bufala gelato, topped with a drizzle of Aceto Balsamico di Moderna).

Along with the gelato, the shop offers coffee from all across the world: South America, India, Africa and Asia, selected by a small coffee shop in Bologna Customers are able to experience authentic Italian espresso. Cakes, pastries, vegan salads and sandwiches including a new speciality Italian sandwich ‘bubble’ (a savoury doughnut) will also be available on the menu There is the option to eat in for a coffee and sandwich or takeaway the gelato in tubs. It also offers the option of home delivery of their cakes and gelato.
