Greggs total sales up 7.5% in first 19 weeks of 2017
The bakery completed 87 shop refits, opened 42 new sites, including 20 franchised units in transport locations, and closed 14 taking its total to 1,792 as of May 13th. Further opening for Greggs remain focused on new food-on-the-go locations.
Greggs noted that customers are responding to the quality and value of its £2 breakfast offer and has invested further in capacity to meet demand. Sales of its Balanced Choice range also continue to grow, the bakery reported.
The company expects to make progress in line with previous expectations for the year as a whole.
