Greene King, made an appearance at the Lord Mayor’s Show on Saturday (11 November) as employees from the pub operator and brewer dressed up in a variety of costumes to represent three of its UK pubs.

Staff donned themed outfits representative of the Golden Lion, Punch & Judy and Shakespeare’s Head pubs during the parade down the streets of London.

Rooney Anand, Greene King’s chief executive, said: “It was a real privilege for Greene King to take part in the Lord Mayor’s Show.

“Our teams brought some of our most iconic London pubs to life by dressing up in character and waving at the crowds from their pubs signs.

“The lion was a big hit with some unique dancing and Punch & Judy certainly entertained the crowds with their enthusiasm and excitement.”

To tie in with the event, Greene King raised money for MacMillan Cancer Support across its estate over the weekend in the hope of raising £40,000.

The Lord Mayor’s show is an 802-year-old event which takes the newly-elected Lord Mayor of the City of London to Westminster to swear an oath of fealty to the Crown.
