Gordon Ramsay’s Plane Restaurant at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 5 has opened following a major refurbishment which includes the introduction of a grab & go offering.

'Plan Food Grab & Go' serves pre-prepared food from the restaurant’s menu, aimed at passengers short on time who can instead experience the Gordon Ramsay dining experience "40,000 feat in the air."

Ramsay said: “Plane Food has been setting the standard for airport dinning since T5 opened in 2008. Since day one, it's brought together the Groups passion for high quality food, amazing flavours and service and in its stunning new form, will take it all to another level.

"I'm excited for travellers of all ages to experience the new-modern Plane Food that has been inspired by influences from all around the globe, and don't be surprised to see me tucking into the glorious butter chicken before my next flight.”

Also new to the restaurant is an Asian bar where chefs prepare dishes in an open kitchen, and a new cocktail bar offering mixes from around the world.

The restaurants menu has been updated to include British classics that are inspired by world foods, such as short rib beef burger with chimichurri mayo, creedy carver confit duck leg, lentils and green beans, and dry aged Hereford 10 oz rib-eye steak with Café de Paris butter.

Children dine for free as is the case in most Gordon Ramsay restaurants, a portfolio which stands at 14 in the UK and 31 globally.

Chris Annetts, retail director for Heathrow, added: “Since its opening in 2008, Gordon Ramsay’s Plane Food has become a cornerstone of the Terminal 5 experience for so many of our passengers. We are proud to be continuing our partnership with the Gordon Ramsay Group."
