FullyCATERed Limited CATERed Windsor House Fixed Term Contract – 12 months 37 hours per week (full-time 52 weeks per annum) Grade H (£ 32,233.00 - £ 36,153.00)

FullyCATERed Limited is a wholly owned subsidiary of CATERed – the unique local authority cooperative trading company owned by schools and the Council providing school food across the City – which has been created as a full commercial catering operation. 

FullyCATERed Limited provides staff catering facilities in the Council’s corporate buildings at Ballard House and Windsor House, external events and function catering including corporate working lunches and buffets, and forward facing public cafés. The opportunity, and expectation for growth, is significant. 

This brand new senior role is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to our food service offer and how that is delivered and received by customers. You will be conversant with our wider cooperative approach to business, supporting different areas of communities and wider national agenda such as the use of plastics. 

You will be advising and supporting the managing director and Board with all aspects relating to the operations and to actively seek and identify opportunities and innovation for business growth with a focus on the latest food trends and best practice. 

You will be required to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of catering operations and services to maximise growth opportunities, retain existing customers whilst maximising income and levels of customer satisfaction whilst actively seeking and securing additional business and revenue opportunities. 

You will be passionate about providing great service and a fantastic food offer using local, regional and seasonal produce from the region wherever possible having due regard to the market with the resources available and within budget for each specified outlet and achieving gross profit targets. 

You will be a highly professional individual - experienced, enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to manage both people and the business, creating a solution based drive for success whilst keeping the customer at the heart of everything we do. You will be leading a small management team with a growing frontline service with approximately 20-30 staff across a number of sites.

You will have:

  •  A proven track record within high volume catering environments 
  • Demonstrable experience within a management position in the multi-site catering environment, ideally within the commercial sector, and strong commercial and business acumen 
  • Excellent people skills, a positive attitude and be an experienced leader 
  • Knowledge of working within company financial regulations and the development and a clear understanding of financial planning and business cases with demonstrable budget management experience 
  • Thorough knowledge of all relevant Food Safety and Health & Safety at Work Legislation 
  • Demonstrable experience of negotiating with a wide range of suppliers, providers and contributors to achieve a customer focused service delivery and sales uplift (turnover / revenue and surplus) 
  • Demonstrable sales and marketing experience (with appropriate qualifications or equivalent) within a catering provision 

You will be able to demonstrate the flexibility to accommodate changing daily priorities and to: 

  • Ensure a first class service to all customers 
  • Secure new business and contracts inside and outside of the City whilst maximising customer satisfaction, repeat business, footfall and spend 
  • Manage budgets and ensure the financial performance of all commercial units, contracts 

You will have the confident ability to use all aspects of Microsoft Office and your excellent verbal and written skills will be an essential asset for production of reports and presentations to business, elected Members, Council officers and a wide range of stakeholders. 

A full driving licence and access to own transport is essential to fulfill the requirements of the role.
