Carlsberg UK has extended its 30-year partnership with Northampton Saints until “at least” 2025.

Accompanied by investment from Carlsberg, the new agreement hopes to improve the quality of its cellars and bars, minimise wastage and reduce queuing time.

To celebrate, England captain Dylan Hartley, Courtney Lawes and George North joined Carlsberg UK’s vice-president, Bruce Ray and Saints’s chief executive Mark Darbon for the evening, which can be viewed in the video below.

Ray explained: “Tonight’s a bit of a celebration, Carlsberg and Northampton Saints have been partners and friends for many, many years and this is our way of giving a little bit back to the fans and hopefully having a great evening to celebrate such a long-term partnership.

“We’ve done a number of things – we’ve introduced some new products, we’ve introduced Brooklyn lager, we’ve introduced Carlsberg export around the brand, we’ve introduced a number of new serving points.

“Northampton Saints are an enormous local brand, Carlsberg’s an enormous local brand and working together is just a very, very obvious partnership.”

Hartley added: “We’re trying to bring a new range of beer to the club, we’re trying to reduce prices and speed up pouring and queuing time, so I’m sure that will keep a lot of fans happy.”

Mark Darbon of Northampton Saints also said: “It’s a brilliant evening for us - our players enjoy interacting with our fans and for our supporters, it’s a brilliant chance to have this unique, intimate environment with some of their icons.

“We’re proud as a club that we’ve got those names and we’re proud to be working with an organisation like Carlsberg.”
