Cardiff’s Food and Fun holiday enrichment programme has won its sixth award of the year at the 2016 Springboard Awards.

The programme is co-ordinated by Food Cardiff, a partnership between the City of Cardiff Council, Sport Cardiff and Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.

Cabinet member for education, Cllr Sarah Merry said: "The nutrition of the city's children and young people is key to their overall health and wellbeing. During term time our school meals are designed to help them stay healthy, and it’s fantastic to see our school holiday enrichment programme carrying on the provision of healthy eating through the summer, as well as providing physical activity and fun learning opportunities.”

This year’s Food and Fun saw 11 schools across the city welcoming children between the age of seven and 11 through the summer holidays, providing healthy meals, physical activity, food education and lots of fun.
