Kingfisher Beer Europe Ltd has announced that it has reached agreement with Guangzhou Nansha Zhujiang Brewery Co. Ltd. of China to market and distribute their flagship brand Pearl River Beer across the UK and selected European markets.

The beer is named after the 1,375 mile river that meanders through Southern China until it reaches the ancient city of Guangzhou, the home of Cantonese cuisine and Dim Sum.  Pearl River is one of China’s biggest beer brands and their state-of-the-art brewery produces a staggering 1.2 billion litres of beer every year.

Damon Swarbrick, CEO of Kingfisher Beer Europe Ltd, explained, “The launch of Pearl River in the UK will capitalise on two dominant consumer trends in the beer market.  Firstly, consumers are increasingly keen to match their beer to the food they’re consuming."
