Bluebird Café partners with food waste charity, FareShare

09/10/2017 - 07:00
D&D London restaurant, Bluebird Café, is partnering with food charity FareShare, to help tackle the increasing problem of food waste and raise money for the organisation.

From 16-19 October, Bluebird’s head chef Joe Albina will be creating daily specials from the “fresh, quality, in-date” ingredients delivered from FareShare and provided directly from supermarkets and food suppliers, which would have otherwise been discarded.

Including fruit and vegetables, dairy, meat, seafood and other in-date surplus ingredients, Albina will create new dishes daily, with half of the profits going to FareShare to help “turn an environmental problem into a social solution.” Customers will also be able to add a further £1 donation to FareShare on their final bill.
