The Asian Catering Federation (ACF) has revealed the 80 shortlisted restaurants for its inaugural Asian Restaurant Awards, taking place 5 March in Manchester.

Open to Bangladeshi, Burmese, Chinese, Filipino, Indian, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, Middle Eastern, Singaporean, Sri Lankan, Thai, Turkish and Vietnamese restaurants and takeaways across the UK, the ACF explained: “avoiding the term ‘curry’ means the awards reflect the rich diversity among many of the world’s great cuisines.”

Having received over 100,000 public votes across the 13 categories, the shortlisted venues will now be inspected by the panel of judges, including Cobra Good Curry Guide editor, Pat Chapman, who will assess each on the quality of the food and cooking as well as ambience, décor, customer service, community involvement and hygiene.
