Leading UK chefs and athletes joined forces in The Ritz (London) kitchens recently, as part of EP Business in Hospitality’s drive to educate children about food.

The event also supported the Royal Academy of Culinary Arts’ ‘Adopt a School’ trust, which is designed to educate primary school children about what they eat and the nutritional value, healthiness and to encourage a balanced diet.

Dorset-based school meals provider, Local Food Links, has announced the winners for its competition for pupils in its schools to design Christmas cards.

The competition, which is now in its fourth year, has children submitting entries showcasing an array of colourful and original designs. 

Local Food Links works with 50 schools and serves 3,700 lunches a day with 47 member of staff.

UKHospitality has claimed that the government migration proposals will ‘devastate’ the hospitality industry.

Under government plans, future EU migrants will be required to earn £30,000.
